Minoga naval helicopter sketch completed - designer

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - Russian Helicopters has finished work on a technical design of the prospective naval helicopter Minoga for the Russian Navy, Andrei Boginsky, the holding company's general director told Interfax on Thursday.

"There was the stage of sketch and technical designing, it was completed in February and handed over. We are awaiting the customer's decision," Boginsky said.

In April 2018 the head of Russian Helicopters said that a full-size prototype of the Minoga helicopter would be created by early 2019.

The Navy needs a modern helicopter, "a new platform, with the potential for future upgrades for new challenges and requirements," he said.

It was reported that a conceptually new deck-based helicopter Minoga was under development for the Russian Navy, which is expected to replace the anti-submarine helicopter Kamov Ka-27.
