Russian Foreign Ministry recognizes importance of Norwegian mediation on Venezuela

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Moscow welcomes Norway's initiative to act as an intermediary between the Venezuelan government and opposition.

"The Norwegians have offered their good services. If they succeed in such dialogue, it would be of great importance. We believe that this could be important, and as for its practical results, this is already a matter for the negotiations proper," head of the Latin America Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Shchetinin told journalists on Tuesday.
