MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin met with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sanai in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss the situation in the Persian Gulf, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"There was a detailed discussion of the latest developments in the Middle East and Gulf region, with particular emphasis on the challenges of reaching long-term settlement of the regional conflicts with employment of the UN potential," the ministry stated on its website.
The ambassador was received at his request, the ministry said.
