Trump's tweet on Russia removing military specialists from Venezuela speculation - Kremlin aide (Part 2)

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump's remark alleging that Russia has cut the number of its specialists in Venezuela is based on speculation concerning Russian-Venezuelan cooperation, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.

"This report is based on some speculation concerning the internal work that Russia is doing in Venezuela," Ushakov told journalists in commenting on Trump's tweet in which he alleged that Russia had informed the United States of removing its people from Venezuela.

"We can but guess," Ushakov said when asked how Trump's remark could be explained.

"You know that there is a limited number of our representatives there, and if there were 90 people first and then, for instance, there were 80 of them, I don't know whether that's worth commenting on at the presidential level," Ushakov said.

"I don't know where these statements came from, because they are perhaps based on some speculation concerning our involvement in certain domestic processes," he said.

Asked whether Russia is reducing its support for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Ushakov replied: "Russia is appropriately cooperating with the incumbent Venezuelan leadership."
