ST. PETERSBURG. June 6 (Interfax) - All supplies of Russian small arms to the Central African Republic (CAR) are in compliance with international law and are being made at the request of this country's leadership, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told reporters on Thursday.
"All of these steps are being taken through the UN's relevant committees, in compliance with international law and UN decisions and at the request of the CAR legitimate leadership," he said.
The newspaper Kommersant reported earlier that work was underway to send the second batch of small arms to the Central African Republic, but these steps were being hindered by obstacles on the part of Western countries.
