ST. PETERSBURG. June 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he does not consider his lack of an invitation to the D-Day anniversary celebrations in Normandy as a problem.
"As regards the invitation [...] we don't invite everyone to every event either. Why should they invite me? Am I a ceremonial bystander? I have things to do here. It's no problem at all," Putin told heads of news agencies at a meeting on Thursday.
"If you do a bit of conspiracy theorizing, you might imagine that Western leaders wanted to whisper in each other's ears before establishing contacts with us," he said.
