Who should be in power in Venezuela up to country's people - Putin

ST. PETERSBURG. June 6 (Interfax) - Whether Venezuela's President Nicholas Maduro should stay in power is up to the people of that country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"The crisis in Venezuela must be resolved by the Venezuelan people. And whether Mr. Maduro should remain in power or not is, too, to be decided by the people of Venezuela during dialogue, consultations, and interaction among the various political forces," Putin told heads of foreign news agencies at a meeting on Thursday

"As far as I know, that is what President Maduro is proposing," Putin said.
