Motions for dismissal of foreign, defense ministers, SBU chief, prosecutor general to be made in Rada next week - Zelensky's representative

KYIV. June 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will make motions for the dismissal of Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, Security Service Chief Vasyl Hrytsak, and Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko in the Verkhovna Rada next week, Zelensky's representative in parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

"The aforesaid positions are clearly stated in Article 106 of the Ukrainian Constitution. The procedure is more complicated for the prosecutor general, but we have found legal grounds to do so. I am sure that the Ukrainian president will make four instead of three motions in the Verkhovna Rada next week, including the one regarding the prosecutor general," Stefanchuk said in the program Pravo na Vladu aired by the television channel 1+1 on Thursday.

In Stefanchuk's words, the positions will be filled shortly. "Nominations will be imminent, consistent with the procedure prescribed by the Ukrainian Constitution and laws," he said.

The Verkhovna Rada refused to dismiss Klimkin, Poltorak, and Hrytsak on June 6.

Zelensky made motions for their dismissal on May 30.

The presidential administration also said materials were being prepared to relieve Yury Lutsenko of duties as the Ukrainian prosecutor general.
