Tokayev officially declared president-elect - Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission (Part 2)

NUR-SULTAN. June 10 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission (CEC) has officially declared Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the winner of the presidential election, an Interfax correspondent reported.

"Tokayev mustered 70.96% of votes,' CEC member Lyazzat Suleimen said at a CEC session.

The election was held last Sunday.

The opposition candidate Amirzhan Kosanov came in second, with 1,495,491 votes, or 16.23%.

"Zhambyl Akhmetbekov mustered 167,649 votes, or 1.82% of the vote; Daniya Yespayeva, 465, 714 (5.05%); Toleutai Rakhimbekov, 280,451 (3.04%); Amangeldy Taspikhov, 182,898 ( 1.98%); and Sadybek Tugel, 84,582 (0.92%)," Suleimen said.

"The final results have been established, the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been elected," CEC chairman Berik Imashev said.
