UFA. June 18 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of an international conference of high representatives for security issues in the Russian city of Ufa, Russian Security Council spokesman Yevgeny Anoshin told reporters on Tuesday.
"Nikolai Patrushev discussed the situation in the Middle East during a meeting with Government Minister, National Intelligence Service Director, and Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council of the United Arab emirates Ali al-Shamsi," Anoshin said.
Patrushev met with Chairman of Brunei's National Security Council Halbi Yussof, as well.
"At a meeting between the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the National Security Council of Brunei Halbi Yussof, the sides agreed to hold regular consultations on the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and the main challenges and threats facing global security," Anoshin said.
Patrushev additionally met with General Director of Cambodia's General Directorate of Intelligence and Counterintelligence Hun Manith to discuss cooperation between the two countries in combating terrorism and cross-border crime.
