Int'l investigators looking for witnesses to identify people who ordered launcher that downed MH17 to Ukraine

BRUSSELS. June 19 (Interfax) - The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17) over Ukraine in 2014 said on Wednesday it is determined to find out who decided to send a Buk anti-aircraft missile system to eastern Ukraine before it eventually downed the plane.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, a JIT representative said the investigators were looking for witnesses to help find out who decided to send the Buk to Ukraine and what its crew was tasked with.

The JIT additionally called on Russia to start cooperating.

Speakers at the press conference said they were not completely certain whether they would be able to bring charges against other suspects in the downing of the MH17 and that they lacked information to charge those who actually fired the missile upon the passenger plane.
