BRUSSELS. June 19 (Interfax) - The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) looking into the causes of the MH17 tragedy in Ukraine in 2014 has found that Russia has complete information about the circumstances of the air crash, but is not willing to cooperate with the investigation, a JIT representative said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
At some point after July 17, 2014 [the day when the Boeing was downed], Russia could have told the JIT what exactly happened, because it knows, I am sure it knows, what happened, the representative said.
The official repeated earlier statements that the Buk anti-aircraft system that allegedly shot down the airliner had been brought to Ukraine from Russia.
"And they knew that. And they didn't provide us with the information. I wouldn't call that cooperation," the representative said.
