CHISINAU. June 19 (Interfax) - Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Vasile Sova has discussed Transdniestria settlement means with U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Dereck Hogan and OSCE Mission Head Claus Neukirch, a representative of the Reintegration Bureau told Interfax.
The sides reaffirmed "the need for supporting consolidation of the positions of international partners in the 5+2 format in regard to Moldova," the representative said.
They additionally backed the initiative of working meetings between political representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol and a visit of the intermediaries and observers of the 5+2 format to Moldova.
The meeting addressed other plans which could be implemented with the assistance of international partners, as well. These include renovation of Route M5, which goes from Chisinau to the Ukrainian border via Tiraspol.
The sides agreed to interact in a broad range of issues of mutual interest.
Sova was appointed deputy prime minister for reintegration in the new Moldovan government, which was confirmed on June 8. He is considered one of the best specialists in the Transdniestrian settlement process, which he has been involved in since 1991. Sova served as the reintegration minister and deputy prime minister for reintegration in 2001-2009, and was appointed presidential advisor for the Transdniestrian settlement process in 2017.
