New data on MH17 crash nonobjective - Slutsky

MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - The latest accusations by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which probes the crash of the Malaysian Boeing, provide no clear explanation of what really happened, according to Leonid Slutsky, chairman of a State Duma committee.

"The new accusations by the JIT regarding the Malaysian Boeing are untenable, just another variation in the 'highly likely' style. Again, no clear evidence was cited, only loud and unceremonious claims about Russian citizens allegedly involved," Slutsky told journalists on Wednesday.

"Russia cannot perceive such accusations objectively." he said.

"The JIT has consistently refused to allow Russian, but not Ukrainian, experts to participate in the inquiry, despite our repeated, persistent requests. Our arguments and material including those gathered by Almaz-Antey specialists were completely ignored. The biased approach is evident," Slutsky said.

Earlier on Wednesday the JIT announced the launch of a criminal inquiry against four suspects - three Russians Igor Girkin, Sergei Dubinsky and Oleg Pulatov, and one Ukrainian, Leonid Kharchenko - in connection with the Malaysian Airlines' Boeing 777 crash in Ukraine in 2014.
