KYIV. June 26 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces began to pull back from one of its positions in the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint area on Wednesday morning, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Staff said in a statement, indicating that monitors of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are observing the process.
"The Ukrainian forces left one of its positions in front of the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint at noon. The operation was observed by the OSCE monitors stationed on both sides of the line. The pullback was also personally monitored by Joint Forces Commander Lieut. Gen. Oleksandr Syrsky. According to him, this is the first stage of the sides' withdrawal from the Stanytsia outskirts," the JFO Staff said on Facebook.
