Soyuz MS-16 crewmembers confirmed

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Akihiko Hoshide of Japan and Nikolai Tikhonov and Andrei Babkin of Russia will man the Soyuz MS-16 spaceship on its way to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 15, 2020, according to Roscosmos' official magazine Russky Kosmos.

Babkin, Tikhonov, and Hoshide have been confirmed as the main crew, and Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner of Russia and Chris Cassidy of the United States have been made their backups.

The interagency commission, which selects and appoints cosmonauts to crews of manned spaceships and the ISS, has confirmed the crewmembers, the magazine said.
