JCPOA Joint Commission begins meeting in Vienna

VIENNA. June 28 (Interfax) - The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Joint Commission has begun its meeting in Vienna.

European External Action Service (EEAS) Secretary General Helga Schmid is presiding at the meeting attended by delegations from Russia, the EU3 (France, the UK, and Germany), the European Union, China, and Iran.

The Russian delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, while the Iranian delegation is led by Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araghchi.

Experts have dubbed the meeting "the last try" to save the deal concluded following a decade of talks in July 2015 by the six international intermediaries (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) and Iran.
