Gremyashchy corvette to finalize state trials with Northern Sea Route trip

VLADIVOSTOK. June 28 (Interfax) - The new Gremyashchy corvette of Project 20385 will finalize state trials by travelling via a Northern Sea route to the location of the Pacific fleet in fall, Pacific Fleet Deputy Commander for Weaponry RAdm. Igor Korolyov said.

"The new corvette Gremyashchy of Project 20385, which has passed the first stage of factory trials at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg, will travel to the Pacific Fleet's location on the Northern Sea Route in September to finalize state trials," the Pacific Fleet said in a statement citing Korolyov as saying at the Army 2019 forum in Vladivostok.

"The Pacific Fleet and the shipyard have been tasked with testing the ship's weapons; in particular, by test-firing Kalibr cruise missiles," the statement said.

The Gremyashchy will be the first corvette of the Pacific Fleet to carry Kalibr missiles. It is due to join the fleet by the end of 2019.
