OSAKA. June 28 (Interfax) - The approach of U.S. President Donald Trump to trade-economic relations with Russia is constructive, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said after the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump.
Russia is ready to begin dialogue on disarmament and arms control issues, he said.
Moscow states "a constructive approach of President Trump, a wish to improve the deplorable situation in trade-economic cooperation, which is at a very low level," Peskov told reporters.
"We also state readiness to begin talks on serious stability and disarmament issues, arms control issues. We generally state an intention to continue top-level dialogue," Peskov said.
The issue implementation by Russia of the Nord Stream 2 project was not discussed in the meeting between the two leaders, he said.
Besides, Trump brought up the issue of the Ukrainian sailors' release in the talks with Putin. "That issue was addressed, it was raised by President Trump. Putin gave the necessary comments," Peskov said.
