Putin-Trump meeting in Osaka gives reasons for optimism about future of Russian-U.S. relations - Ryabkov

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Osaka gives reasons for optimism about the future of relations between the two countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"I'd like to stress that the contact in Osaka ultimately gives reasons for a certain amount of optimism about the future," Ryabkov said at a session of the Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow.

Russia wants to make full headway on some tracks, he said. "Everything depends on the United States, on the U.S. administration," Ryabkov said.
