MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Uralvagonzavod has completed the design and experimental work on a mortar with an increased firing range, the corporation said its 2018 results report.
"As for mortar weapons, we have completed the 'Deva' design and experimental project to create an 82mm 2B24 mortar and related ammunition. Its completion opens up prospects of equipping troops with a mortar of an increased firing range and more potent round," the document said.
"The mortar should have a firing range of six kilometers. The weapon weighs 45 kilograms, the number of crew members is five people," TsNII Burevestnik, which designed the mortar, said.
The mortar can be placed on top of a continuous track or an all-terrain vehicle.
