Number of Taliban increases to 60,000 - CSTO acting general secretary

MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - The number of members of the Taliban (banned in Russia) now stands at 60,000 people, acting Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Valery Semerikov said, citing the latest estimates.

"The most recent figure I've received from official sources is 60,000 Taliban members," Semerikov told a press conference in Moscow.
