Higher levels of Iran's uranium enrichment do not breach IAEA guarantee agreement - Lavrov

HIGH TATRAS (Slovakia). July 9 (Interfax) - Iran may keep raising uranium enrichment levels, yet such actions do not violate an IAEA safeguard agreement and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the press in Slovakia on Tuesday.

"We are expecting Iran to show self-restraint but cannot ignore actual facts. The facts indicate that Iran, which has boosted uranium enrichment levels from 3.67% to 5% and might continue to do so, does not breach either the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, or an IAEA safeguard agreement, or its additional protocol," Lavrov said.
