MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - An inter-parliamentary dialogue between Russia and Ukraine is possible, and Moscow is determined to seek such a dialogue, Russian Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko said.
"We stand ready to maintain a dialogue with a parliament that the people have given a vote of confidence to. And we do believe that such a dialogue is possible now - at least on matters where we can form a positive agenda. Let's wait until the complete formation of the Verkhovna Rada structure, the chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada and the committees, let's see what people come there and what their sentiment is. We've got enough patience and composure," Matviyenko said at a press conference on Thursday.
"I would like to reaffirm and stress once again that we are open to arranging a dialogue and building inter-parliamentary interaction so as to normalize Russian-Ukrainian relations," she said.
Both Russia in general and the Federal Assembly in particular have always favored a dialogue with people having different ideological views, excluding "extremely radical, pro-fascist, or pro-Nazi ones," she said.
