Russia calls for completing Fordo, Arak projects as part of JCPOA despite threat of U.S. sanctions - Ryabkov

VIENNA. July 29 (Interfax) - Participants of the Vienna meeting have reaffirmed that all projects envisaged under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), including the reconfiguration of the Fordo uranium-enrichment facility and of the Arak reactor, should be put into practice, despite the threat of U.S. sanctions, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"It is necessary that all projects, which are being pursued as part of the JCPOA, despite the threat of applying American sanctions to their operators, would be protected," Ryabkov told Interfax.

"Russia is insisting on the implementation of these projects, including Fordo, Arak and many others, as constituting collective responsibility of the JCPOA parties. It is positive that this statement was brought into use so that it is stipulated as a common position now," he added.
