Russian FM, 73rd UNGA session President Espinosa discuss UNSC reform

MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has met with Maria Fernanda Espinosa, the president of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), who was paying a working visit to Moscow, on Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The parties discussed the most relevant issues under consideration of the session, including the reform of the UN Security Council, intensification of the UNGA's work, the implementation of the agenda on the sustainable development up to 2030, and the climate change," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.

"Both parties reiterated commitment to the strengthening of the multipolar world order on the basis of the UN Charter and the UN's central role in international affairs," it said.

"The minister commended Espinosa's activities in office and thanked her for the efforts made during the session," the ministry said.
