NUR-SULTAN. Aug 1 (Interfax) - The participants in the 13th round of the negotiations on Syria in the Astana format have agreed upon the list of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, and UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen is likely to announce this at the upcoming summit of the guarantor countries in Ankara, a source from one of the delegations told Interfax.
"We have basically agreed upon everything. We've added a phrase that we have completed the coordination of the lists and procedural rules to the joint statement. But all this should be under the auspices of the UN. Ankara is to host a summit of the Iranian, Russian, and Turkish leaders, Geir Pedersen is likely to be invited there, and he is likely to announce this there if nothing extraordinary happens," the source said.
The decision-making procedures for the Constitutional Committee have also been determined, he said.
"All principal decisions will be made based on a consensus. If there is no consensus, there should be at least 70% of votes. Neither party has such a share, and so they'll have to work and look for solutions," he said.
