DONETSK. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Three militiamen have been injured after a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) dropped a grenade, a spokesman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) People's Militia told reporters on Thursday.

"The Ukrainian side, rudely violating the current ceasefire agreements, carried out a strike on the People's Militia positions in the south of our Republic. The Ukrainian forces using an attack unmanned aerial vehicle dropped a VOG-17 grenade on our positions at 2:05 p.m. today in the area of the Oktyabr populated locality. Three our servicemen were injured in the explosion of the round of munitions," he said.

The injured were brought to a medical institution, they were provided with the qualified medical aid, and they are in a stable condition, the People's Militia spokesman said.

"The hostile drone was destroyed by air defense units of the People's Militia. The enemy has undertaken the second attempt at an air strike at 2:35 p.m., but while approaching our positions the drone was shot down and fell in the territory under Ukraine's control. The dry grass caught fire in the explosion of the round of ammunitions near Ukrainian positions; and the fire is still burning," he added.

The DPR is urging international monitors of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to report the instance of using the attack UAVs by the Ukrainian side, inflicting casualties among DPR representatives observing the ceasefire.
