NUR-SULTAN. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The Syrian armed opposition has praised ongoing steps to form the Syrian election committee and expressed hope that the United States will soon announce that it has been formed, head of the Syrian armed opposition's delegation Ahmad Toma said.
"Positive progress is being made under the aegis of the UN in the formation of the constitutional committee," Toma said at a press conference following the 13th round of the Syria talks in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan.
"And we very much hope that once certain difficulties are overcome, as well as following the agreements reached on six members of the committee and other procedures, we hope that the UN will announce in the near future that this committee has been formed," he said.
