BISHKEK. Aug 8 (Interfax) - The Kyrgyz Interior Ministry Special Forces on Thursday used special equipment against residents of the village of Koi-Tash outside Bishkek, where former Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev's supporters are staying, an Interfax correspondent reported.
This has taken place after Atambayev's supporters handed over to the state authorities six officers who have been held hostage by them since Wednesday, according to eyewitnesses.
"The Interior Ministry Special Forces used stun grenades and special equipment in the clash with local residents," the interlocutor of the news agency said.
