Russian Security Council secretary, Armenian PM discuss security cooperation, aid for Syria

MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed ways to broaden security cooperation between the two countries and humanitarian aid for Syria at a meeting in Yerevan, the central office of the Russian Security Council said on Tuesday.

"The secretary of the Security Council of Russia was received by the prime minister of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan. Nikolai Patrushev and Nikol Pashinyan discussed steps to enhance Russian-Armenian cooperation in security, economic and investment cooperation and the two countries' interaction within international organizations," it said.

The sides also discussed "a number of key problems on the international agenda, including humanitarian aid to the Syrian people and the restoration of peaceful life in Syria," it said.
