Russia favors dialogue between Damascus and Kurds to stabilize Syria's northeast - Russian Foreign Ministry

ORENBURG. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Russia is in favor of a dialogue between the Syrian government and the Kurds in an effort to stabilize the situation in the northeast of Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a press briefing in Orenburg on Thursday.

"Continuing attempts to promote the so-called partitioning of the northeast of Syria serve as a cause for growing concern. We continue to speak in favor of achieving lasting stability and security in the northeast by establishing Syria's sovereignty and through a productive dialogue between Damascus and the Kurds as part of the Syrian people," she said.
