MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Russia and France share the task of preserving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) for the Iranian nuclear program and preventing an escalation of tensions between Iran and the United States, according to Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov.
Ushakov told a press briefing before talks to be held August 19 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron that the sides would discuss the situation surrounding Iran and its nuclear program.
"Russia and France share the task of preserving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and preventing an escalation of tensions between Iran and the United States in the Gulf Region and in general," Ushakov said.
