MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax) - The Serbian defense minister inspected progress in the construction of Mil Mi-35M combat helicopters for his country at a factory in Rostov, Russian Helicopters (part of Rostec) said on Friday.
"During his working trip to Russia Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin visited the Rosvertol enterprise (part of Russian Helicopters). The minister inspected the Mi-35M transport-combat helicopter being made by the Rostov-based factory for the Serbian Armed Forces under a contract signed with Rosoboronexport," the holding company's press service said.
Vulin met with the factory's top managers and trainee pilots and engineers and inspected the Mi-35 assembly facilities, Russian Helicopters said.
Mi-35M is an attack helicopter for use any time of day and night in any weather against enemy armored equipment, fire support for ground troops, landing operations, and air ambulance services.
The helicopter can carry up to eight armed personnel, up to 1,500 kilograms of ammunition or other payload on board and up to 2,400 kilograms suspended.
