Putin discussed INF Treaty issues with Russian Security Council's permanent members after U.S. missile test - Peskov

MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed issues related to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with permanent members of the Russian Security Council after the United States tested a ground-launched cruise missile, and has made an important statement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing on Friday.

"The meeting addressed INF Treaty issues from the angle of the recent test of a U.S. ground-launched intermediate-range missile," Peskov said.

"Putin made an important statement. It will be published shortly," he said.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov alongside Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Presidential Chief of Staff Anton Vaino, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin, Peskov said.
