MOSCOW. Aug 23 (Interfax) - The U.S. consul will visit suspected spy Paul Whelan next week, according to Whelan's lawyer Vladimir Zherebenkov.
"The Canadian consul was there yesterday, and the U.S. consul is going to visit him next week. That's the agreement," Zherebenkov told the press on Friday.
In his words, Whelan is visited by diplomats from each of the four countries of which he is a citizen (the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland). "There are no problems with doing it," Zherebenkov said, adding that lawyers were in touch with Whelan's brother.
