MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - The U.S. Embassy in Russia said that the health of U.S. citizen Paul Whelan, charged with espionage in Russia, is at risk.
"Paul Whelan's health is at risk, and yet Lefortovo prison officials refuse to provide medical records or an independent medical examination," the U.S. Embassy in Russia said in a tweet on Saturday.
"It's time to put an end to this and allow Paul to go home to get proper medical treatment," it said.
