Putin proposes organizing flights of Turkish pilots on Russia's Su-30SM fighter jets (Part 2)

ZHUKOVSKY. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Russia could organize flights on board Sukhoi Su-30SM fighters for Turkish military pilots, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Our Turkish guests have started to familiarize themselves with the achievements of the Russian aviation industry. They have seen the flying program. It included a demonstration of the Su-35 multi-purpose fighter, the fifth-generation fighter Su-57, and we are also ready to organize flights of Turkish pilots on Su-30SM fighter jets," Putin said at a press conference that he attended together with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.

Moscow would like to take advantage of having the Turkish leader as a guest of the MAKS Air Show "to hold bilateral talks and discuss, among other subjects, promising joint projects, not only in aviation but also in other areas of military-technical cooperation."

"In particular, I mean the performance of the contract for S-400 Triumf air defense missile systems," Putin said.

Putin emphasized, however, that the bilateral talks "were clearly not limited to the area of military-technical cooperation." "We have discussed many aspects of Russian-Turkish interaction and exchanged views on the current issues of international and regional agendas," he said.
