Russia, Turkey discussing joint design of 4++ generation fighter - FSMTC

ZHUKOVSKY. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey are discussing the creation of a 4++ generation fighter jet, but it is too early to say that a joint project has begun as of yet, a spokesman for the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) told Interfax.

"As regards the creation of new aircraft, the sides [Russia and Turkey] are holding technical consultations and talks on a 4++ generation plane, as well as initial consultations on the fifth-generation aircraft," the spokesman said.

"However, it would be premature to declare the beginning of work of Russia and Turkey on the new joint plane," he said.
