MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - The second package of the United States' Russia sanctions associated with the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in the United Kingdom can evoke nothing but regret, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"Another package of unilateral sanction measures on the part of the United States of America took effect on August 26. This decision, of which Washington announced in early August, can evoke nothing but regret," Zakharova said at a news briefing on Wednesday.
"It's sad that the remnants of what used to be Russian-American partnership are being sacrificed, if they have not already been sacrificed, by the U.S. in favor of circumstances of domestic politics and pre-election campaigning," she said.
