MINSK. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Belarus has no intention to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and urges responsible countries to pledge non-deployment of such missiles in Europe, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at the international high-level conference on countering terrorism in Minsk on Tuesday.
"Belarus has been a full-fledged member of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. We have not withdrawn from it and have no intention to either make or deploy such missiles," Lukashenko said.
"A pledge of responsible countries not to deploy intermediate- and shorter-range missiles in Europe could make a real input in strengthening security," he said.
