China's disagreement with idea that it join strategic arms reduction agreement is logical - Putin

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 5 (Interfax) - China's objections to the United States' idea that Beijing should join some new agreements on strategic arms reductions is logical, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"The U.S. has come up with a new idea now - they want to engage the People's Republic of China in this joint work. But the Chinese are saying quite reasonably that the Chinese nuclear capability is much lower than the Russian and American ones. And they can't understand what they should reduce, considering that they have fewer delivery vehicles and fewer warheads as it is - and this looks quite logical," Putin said at the Eastern Economic Forum on Thursday.
