Transdniestrian representatives to attend Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission meeting - Dodon

CHISINAU. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Transdniestrian representatives will attend a meeting of the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission, Moldovan President Igor Dodon said.

The commission has not met for the past three years, Dodon said on the television channel NTV Moldova on Monday night.

"The commission is about to resume its activity. It will meet in Chisinau on September 18-19. Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Vasile Sova will be presiding at the meeting, which will be attended by representatives of all ministries of Moldova and Russia. Many questions have amassed, so several dozen specialists will come from Russia to Chisinau for the first time in three years. Representatives of Transdniestria will attend the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, as well," Dodon said.

Some of the problems which have piled up over the years concern Transdniestria, he said.

"There is a broad range of issues, from exports and trade to cultural and humanitarian issues. I think it is important to reset socioeconomic relations between the two countries. The Intergovernmental Commission will accomplish this reset," Dodon said.

The Second Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum will be held in Chisinau on September 20-21, Dodon said. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, Sberbank of Russia CEO German Gref, representatives of all Russian ministries, and about 1,000 Russian businessmen will attend the event, he said.
