MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Ruselectronics has opened a disaster management center in Nicaragua, Rostec said on Tuesday.
"The Ruselectronics holding company, of the Rostec state corporation, was commissioned by the International Civil Defense Organization and has created a situation center in Managua (in the Republic of Nicaragua) for situation monitoring and disaster management. Its new hardware and software equipment will enable Nicaraguan emergency services to coordinate their operations and simulate emergency simulations," the statement reads.
The system, created by Ruselectronics' Group of Companies Vega, gathers remote sensing data on the environment, natural and manmade objects, including abnormal temperature changes, the hydrometeorological situation, radiation, wildfires, and seismic activity.
"The project, which was implemented in the interest of the Republic of Nicaragua, is yet another example of the successful export of our solutions using Russian software products and hardware," Rostec's director international cooperation and regional policy Viktor Kladov was quoted in the statement as saying.
