MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Moscow is concerned about spying charges brought against the leader of the Bulgarian organization Russophiles, Nikolai Malinov, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"We are concerned about these accusations," Zakharova said at a news briefing on Thursday.
It emerged on September 10 that Bulgarian prosecutors presented an indictment against Malinov.
Bulgarian Deputy Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev said Malinov had worked for "foreign organizations." Some media identified these organizations as the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) and the Russian non-governmental organization Society for the Development of Russian Historical Education Double-Headed Eagle.
