SOCHI. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russia and Israel agree that it is necessary to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"They made a point of the need, and the Israelis totally agree with us here, to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria in fact, not just in word," Lavrov said after Russian President Vladimir Putin's talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Sochi.
Russia also "highlighted the problem of helping the Syrian authorities and the Syrians in general return to peaceful life," he said.
