MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Sberbank CEO Herman Gref's proposal to increase police officers wages, but reduce their number deserves attention, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Gref states many expert ideas, he has a lot of experience of working in the government, in expert organizations and in the administration of a giant such as Sberbank, he is involved in many processes in the economy, in innovative activities in our country. Therefore, of course, his viewpoint is important, it is taken into account," Peskov told reporters on Friday.
"It is impossible to state any positions on this matter now, but there is no doubt that it deserves attention," he said, commenting on Gref's proposal stated at the Moscow Financial Forum to increase police officers' wages three-to-four-fold while reducing their ranks.
