MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Alexander Fomin, Russia's Deputy Defense Minister, and George Shaaban, the Lebanese prime minister's special representative, discussed the prospects of military-technical cooperation and the situation in Syria on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"During the talks, the parties addressed the current state and the development prospects of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation," the ministry said.
"The situation in the Middle East, including the return of Syrian refugees to the places of their permanent residence in the Syrian Arab Republic, was discussed at the meeting," it said.
The meeting took place in a friendly environment and confirmed the parties' readiness for further interaction between the defense agencies, the Defense Ministry said.
