TASHKENT. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin has invited Uzbek parliamentarians to participate in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Parliamentary Assembly as observers.
"We hope to see representatives of the Uzbek parliament as observers in the CSTO PA," Volodin said while meeting with Uzbek Legislative Assembly Chairman Nurdinjon Ismoilov.
The CSTO members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. However, Uzbekistan suspended its CSTO membership in 2012.
