Sputnik Moldova head detained for possible role in theft of $1 bln from Moldova's banking system

CHISINAU. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Sputnik Moldova director Vladimir Novosadyuk was detained by officers of Moldova's National Anticorruption Center on Tuesday, the center's press service told Interfax.

Novosadyuk was accused of involvement in steps that led to the theft of $1 billion by a group of persons from Moldova's banking system. He has now been convoyed to the National Anticorruption Center headquarters and is giving testimony.
